 Family Day 2009:

Hi Nadia,

First, I want to start by thanking you again for all your efforts and support for what turned out to be a GREAT family day!  I found you and your husband so warm, friendly and helpful and appreciated all your time and energy.

The feed back so far has been very positive, from the shinny to the facility and the staff.  Our family feels that we had about the same amount of people attending as last year just spread out differently.  We did a few things a bit differently this year and factoring in the economy, we did not raise as a much as we did last year.  That said, we did raise just over $2000.00 to give to The James Fund which is a great accomplishment!

I am so proud of our family and friends who helped out and grateful for the media coverage as I believe that awareness of The James Fund and this horrible disease is just as important as raising money for research.  From the Curtis/Wells family and on behalf of The James Fund, thank you for your ongoing support.  We hope we can have another successful day in 2010.

Sincerely,

LeeAnne Curtis

The Canadian Hockey Association would like to thank you for hosting the National Women's Team October Development Camp at The Sports Village in Vaughan.  All of the players and team staff thoroughly enjoyed their stay in Vaughan.

The arena facility did an excellent job of meeting the ice time, dressing room and storage requirements of Team Canada.  Both the arena and hotel staff were quite friendly and looked after the needs of Team Canada promptly as required.  The food service at both sites was also excellent.

In the event that the National Women's Team returns to the Toronto area, the Canadian Hockey Association looks forward to the potential opportunity to work with you again in the future.

Once again, thank you for your hard work and efforts which made the camp such a success.

Sincerely,

Julie Healy

On behalf of the staff and management at the Courtyard by Marriott Vaughan, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for your patronage over the past several months.

Having the opportunity to host such high profile groups as the Team Canada Olympic Gold Medalists and the Ontario Women's Canada Games hockey teams has been an honour and a pleasure.

Our associates were excited to have these groups staying with us and we look forward to having them return.

We appreciate and value the close relationship that exists between the hotel and The Sports Village.

Sincerely,

David Hopper

The City of Vaughan Canada Day Celebration held on July 1st at the Sports Village, was an overwhelming success.  The weather cooperated and the many festivities were greatly enjoyed by approximately 8,000 residents and visitors who attended the all-day event.

The Sports Village proved to be extremely suitable for this large celebration.  Your onsite facilitation was integral to the overall success and presentation of the event.

On behalf of the City of Vaughan and the Corporate Communications Department, we would like to thank you, Doug Pilkey and all your staff for your assistance and support.
