Attention: All Sports Village Customers, Participants & Visitors

On January 5, 2022, additional public health measures were put in place to blunt transmission of the Omicron variant and prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed. As a result of these temporary measures, the Province is beginning to see signs of stabilization in key public health and health system indicators. Over the coming days and weeks, the Province expects these trends to continue, allowing us to begin cautiously easing public health measures.  In the absence of concerning trends in public health and health care indicators, Ontario will follow a cautious and phased approach to lifting public health measures, with 21 days between each step.  York Region public health units may be deployed based on local context and conditions.

Effective January 31, 2022, 12:01am the following provincially mandated control measures & regulations as they specifically relate to Sports Village & Hot Shots Bar & Grill operations will be in affect:

.  All indoor on-ice programming (ie. hockey practices, hockey games, skill development, learn-to-skate etc.) will be resuming with 50% capacity limits.

.  All indoor spectator areas of the facility (ie. main lobby and 2nd floor viewing areas) will be made available with 50% capacity limits.

.  Hot Shots Bar & Grill restaurant will be re-opening with 50% seating capacity limits, requiring the number of patrons permitted to sit at a table be limited to 10 people and patrons must remain seated

. Main lobby food concessions will remain CLOSED at this time, please be advised that the consumption of any food or drink will be strictly prohibited in the main lobby or 2nd floor viewing areas of the facility.  With that said, we will strictly enforce our existing policy of absolutely NO outside food or drinks allowed in the facility.

. QR code proof of vaccination requirements will be strictly enforced, please be advised that you must provide your enhanced vaccine certificate with a valid QR code.  Vaccine receipts without a QR code are no longer accepted as valid proof of vaccination

ATTENTION: All Sports Village Customers, Participants, & Visitors

In response to recent trends that show a rapid increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations, Ontario is temporarily moving into Step Two of the Roadmap to Reopen with modifications that take into account the province’s successful vaccination efforts.

As of Wednesday January 5, 2022 at 12:01am the following measures will be in place for at least 21 days (until January 27) subject to trends in public health and our health system.

Please refer to O.Reg.263/20 Rules for Areas in Step 2  for the complete list of measures and conditions that apply to certain businesses, organizations, places & individuals.

To summarize exactly how do these new rules specifically affect the Sports Village and our operations:
. No indoor recreational on-ice activity will be permitted in any  form unless the on-ice activities fall under Professional and Elite  Amateur Sport Athletes (see Schedule 1 section 8 and Schedule 2 section 19 for specific details).
.  No indoor dining in our restaurant, therefore our restaurant & concessions will be closed, as we do not offer any take-out services
. Offices within the facility will remain open for use to tenant employees etc. during the closure.

If you have any questions. please contact staff at The Sports Village.

The Sports Village Management and staff wish you the very best for 2022 and thank you for your continued commitment to the health and safety of all of our Sports Village Community. Hoping that we can re-open our doors in the very near future in a safe and meaningful way.

As of Wednesday January 5, 2022, we must suspend the Adult League until January 27th. We apologize for this inconvenience. We hope to be up and running at the end of the provincial mandate and carry on with a complete season.

In the interim we will be adjusting the game schedule to reflect the re-opening dates and should have that updated by early next week; so please disregard the current schedule as the building is closed. We wish all of you well for the next 3 weeks and look forward to seeing you all the rink very soon!
