Re: NEW COVID-19 Regulations for the Sports Village

Please be advised that as of October 1, the Province of Ontario has implemented a proof of vaccination requirement for participation in indoor areas of facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities.

Starting September 22, 2021, all visitors; participants, game officials, coaches, instructors, spectators etc. will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide their proof of vaccination (two doses plus 14 days) along with photo ID in order to enter the Sports Village & the Hot Shots Bar & Grill Restaurant. These mandatory requirements would NOT apply to our outdoor restaurant patio and our outdoor beach volleyball courts

Exemptions to this regulation include but are not limited to:

. children under the age of 12,

. youth under the age of 18 participating in indoor organized sport, including training, practices, games etc.,

. The Regional Municipality of York effective 12:01am on October 1, 2021 has eliminated this exemption previously granted by the Province of Ontario thereby requiring each person, age 12 years and older, at the point of entry, who attends the Sports Village for the purpose of (a) participating, (b) coaching, officiating or volunteering, or (c) spectating at organized sports,

. individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will be permitted entry with written documentation by a physician or a nurse practitioner, stating that they are exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated.

All Ontarians who registered their vaccines are encouraged to download their Ontario Vaccine receipt, as proof of their vaccine status until an enhanced vaccine certificate with a QR code is available. Please visit https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca to download your vaccine receipt or book an appointment for your vaccine.

Please note that by October 22nd, the Province is intending to implement an App-Based QR code proof of vaccination that will replace the current downloadable proof of vaccination receipt to assist in their mandate to get all Ontarians vaccinated.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the health and safety of all our Sports Village community.
